UNDER 21`s:

The Club is gearing up towards one of its biggest days of the year. This Saturday the 7^th of December the U-21 team will attempt to emulate the men of 1981 when the U-21 title was last brought back to the town. They play in the Division 1 Final against St Brigids this Saturday at 2pm in Ballyleague. Everyone in the area is asked to go out and support these young men as they attempt to make their own history. MINOR:

The Minor Board wishes to correct inaccurate reports in last Weeks Local papers. To make up for a rather serious mistake by the County Minor Board, at least 6 minor players had to play 140 minutes of football within a 22 hour period on the weekend of the 15th of November. In the interests of the health and welfare of our young players, a request was sent to the County Minor Board, prior to fixtures being arranged, that players should not be subjected to such an unacceptable situation again. The County Minor Board proceeded to arrange the St Aidans match 22 hours after the U-21 game versus Clann Na Gael. This despite the official G.A.A. stance on Player Welfare and Burnout. Elphin Minor Board and Minor Team Management will not be part of putting young player’s health and welfare to such serious risk and refused to play
the fixture as scheduled.

SCÒR:

The County Semi Finals of Scór na nÓg took place last weekend in Ballyleague Community Centre. Encouraged by a large, and vocal, bunch of supporters who travelled from Elphin five groups qualified for the County Final, which will be held in Elphin Community Centre on Sunday January 11th.
