Senior Championship             The Downs 0:23         St Malachys 0:07
On Sunday we qualified for the quarter finals of the championship with our best display of the campaign leading 0:12 to 0:4 at half time, we maintained our momentum and finished the game with an impressive score.

Under 10s
The under 10’s resumed activities on the playing field last week after
a short break for the holidays. On Wednesday last they travelled to
Moate play the All-Whites in a mini blitz. After 4 entertaining games
played in a competitive but sporting atmosphere the scores were
aggregated and both teams came away with a share of the spoils. Thanks
to Joe for refereeing. On Saturday we travelled to Caulry’s fine
facilities in Mount Temple for a mini-blitz. Our lads had to produce
their best performances of the season to overcome the home side.
Thanks to both clubs for the games and we hope to have return legs in
Molloy Park before the end of the season. Panel for both games: Reese

We are meeting in The Downs at 6pm to arrange car sharing. The matches
are scheduled to start at 7pm. Training continues on Fridays at 630pm
and new players are always welcome.

Bingo  continues every Friday at 8.30, come along and bring a friend for an enjoyable nights entertainment.

Club Gear
Club Gear including Togs and Socks can be purchased or ordered at underage training on Fridays. New this year are football gloves with The Downs crest special introductory price €8 for underage and €12 for adult sizes. New polo’s, tee-shirts and wind-cheaters will be available shortly.

The Downs finished the league section of the championship by securing  their third win in a row to  gain a semi final place. Despite trailing at half time by 1:1 The Downs upped their game in the second half to emerge deserved winners. We gained an impressive win over our neighbours on Thursday last in the league section of the championship to give us two wins out of three and put us back in contention for the top place.
