On Sunday evening in Rochfortbridge we played our last championship game of 2012 we needed to secure a win to avoid a regulation playoff. The Downs opened the scoring and went into a two point lead. Before St Malachys responded  with their only score of the half leaving a halftime score 0:8 to 0:1.  The second half started with St Malachys  scoring three unanswered points, The Downs then dominated the scoring with four points in a row to leave the scores on twenty minutes 0:12 to 0:4. Our minor team recorded an impressive win over St Lomans on Tuesday last. We scored two goals in the first minutes to set the tone for the game and remained firmly in control for the rest of the game. We hosted an under 10 blitz on Saturday morning with teams from Kinnegad and Killucan participating. Thanks to everyone who helped out with the blitz and our refs Leanne and Laura..

The Ladies Football are collecting bags of clothes as a fundraiser, so you can now de- clutter and help the club raise funds. Bags of clothes can be left with any team coach or committee member or in The Shop. Please ask family, neighbours, friend and co-workers to fill a bag.
