We suffered our second defeat in this competition on Tuesday last. County Under 16 Team
Congratulations to the county under 16 team who won the Gerry Reilly cup defeating Dublin, well done to Luke Loughlin and Dean Daly.

We are continuing with our free text message service via TEAMER 51687 which we use to notify members regarding various club activities. If you wish to avail of this service, please text your name and number to Marc at 087 8362297. These messages are free to receive and a reply is not required. We currently have over 300 subscribers but would like to enhance it further to ensure all our supporters are aware of our activities and are notified when venues are changed or games cancelled etc

Bingo  continues every Friday at 8.30, come along and bring a friend for an enjoyable nights entertainment.

Underage Training
Training from under 6 to under 12  Friday evenings  from 6.30 to 7.30 .New players welcome .  You can register at any training evening.
 
Club Shop
The club shop is located upstairs in the clubhouse and will be open during Friday evening training for the season. Just arrived are youth kit bags priced at 20 euros. Also in stock are ‘Squareball’ tee-shirts in a unique club design and ideal for the summer. Adult sizes at 20 euros are in stock and kids sizes at 15 euros can be ordered.

The Downs Ladies Football
Underage training for  under 6 to under 12 on Friday evenings 6.30 to 7.30 on Under 14s train on Mondays at 7. Under 16s, 18s and juniors train on Tuesday and Friday at 7.30. New members are welcome to come along for any age

Under 16 Semi-Final              The Downs 3:7           Moate  3:4
On Sunday morning we qualified for the under 16 A final in a closely fought and at time times nail biting game The Downs playing against the wind were first to score, but scores were quickly level. With scores proving hard to come by The Downs raised the green flag to give them a three point advantage which they held going into the break. On the resumption both sides traded points with Moate equalising through a goal. The Downs upped their game for the final quarter scoring some excellent points to regain their advantage which they held until the end. Team: Amy Dagg, Ruth Kenny, Fiona Dignan,  Aishling Egerton, Amy Staunton, Roisin Scally, Ellen Tate, Beth McGuire, Sinead Nolan, Leanne Duncan, Mary Lynam, Clara Thornton, Laura Smullen, Niamh Duncan. Subs: Niamh Rowan, Emma Murtagh, Niamh Staunton, Orla Gavin, Emma Raleigh,  Well done to Bernie who had the team well prepared and ready for the game.
 
Under 14 Final
Next Saturday we play the under 14 final taking on Clann Gael. Come Along and support the team as they try and retain the cup.
 
Fundraising
The Ladies Football are collecting bags of clothes as a fundraiser, so you can now de- clutter and help the club raise funds. Bags are available from any team coach or committee member or in The Shop.
 
Cake Sale
Thanks to everyone who supported our cake sale and all the baking was greatly appreciated.
 
Under 12 Finals
Well done to Aggie Murtagh who referred under 12 A and B finals on Saturday.
 
Ladies All- Ireland Final
We are bringing our players to the Ladies All-Ireland final on Sunday 25th all should bring a packed lunch and rain gear.
