Team: Kevin McGuire, Ben Hogan, Mark Dalton, Declan Lynam, Conor Carley, Greg Crowley, Adam Price, John Smyth, Noel Molloy, Luke Folan, Tommy Cleary, Barry Conroy, David Smith, Keith Shanley, Stephen Devine. Subs Used: Niall Folan, Mark Leavy.

Minor League               The Downs 2:14           St Marys  0:9
On Sunday we picked up our second win in the minor league by defeating St Mary’s 2.14 to 0.09. Rochfordbridge started much better than us and led  by 3 points against the wind. Then Danny Bergin took the game into his hands starting with a long range point from out on the right followed by a great goal and 2 further points had us in great form. Our intensity in the tackle and our speed on the counter attack was the foundation for a 6 point lead at the break. St Mary’s were unlucky to see a superb shot come back of the cross-bar just before half time. We raised our game in the second half and the best move of the game starting with Niall Coates and Cian Quinn who gave a great pass into Dean Egerton. A quick flick pass to Luke Loughlin on the run set him on his way and when he stepped inside the last defender he blasted to the net. We never looked back from there and pushed on to win with some great points taken. PJ Maguire gave an exhibition at midfield in the second half and set up several scores as well as kicking a great point. Finbar Thompson was always on top at wing back and ensured our forwards got good service all day. Overall we played reasonable well and the chance to use full panel was very useful. The subs who came on are now in the frame and competition for places is getting tougher. Improvement in getting back and faster accurate passing needed but we are going in the right direction. Great attitude lads. Thanks to club members for having facility ready and for helping officiate. Team, K Maguire, C Seery, N Murray, D Daly, F Thompson, B Flynn, C Quinn, K Smullen, PJ Maguire, L Loughlin, D Bergan, D Egerton, B Groome, S Carroll, J Cahill. Subs used N Coates, P Duncan, S Cullen, E O Donnell, S Nugent. Happy birthday to Kevin Smullen and Ciaran Seery who turned up fighting fit for the game, well done.
