Under 14s Table Quiz

Thankyou to everyone who supported our Table Quiz on Saturday night. Thanks to Paddy, Denise, Anthony, Claire, Helen and Bridie for their assistance. Sponsors on the night were Daly’s Barbers and Bellview Pharmacy, Dublin Road and as always we encourage you to support local businesses. 
We wish the Clonkill hurlers in our squad all the very best in their U14 county final this Friday.

The Downs Ladies Football 
U 14  D Championship -Final. The Downs  2:7 Delvin/St Pauls 1:5
On Saturday in Shandonagh our second under 14 team successfully contested their final by producing their best game of the year. Holding a slight advantage at half time they were facing into the wind for the second half but this made little impact to The Downs who defended bravely and made use of their attacks to extend their lead and take the title.
Well done  the girls who are all underage again next year and to the mentors for giving their time.

Intermediate Semi-Final The Downs 1:10 Rochfordbridge 3:8
On Sunday in Shandonagh we played our semi final against Rochfordbridge who were relegated from senior last year . Rochfordbridge showed their experience from the start and had a goal on the board direct from the throw in, they continued by adding two more goals. The Downs had a share of possession but were unable to take the scoring opportunities. Rochfordbridge led at halftime 3:3 to 0:3. The Downs showed their true ability in the second half and out scored Rochfordbridge 1:7 to 0:4.
