Club Notes from week ending July 6th

Seniors
The seniors defeated St Marys Granard in a one sided game on Saturday evening last and now are in the Quarter Final for the Senior Championship.  

Final score Colmcille 2-11, St Marys 1-1.

Team on duty was,

G Tonra, Podge Murtagh, N Farrell, O McGivney, B Brady, G Murtagh , F Kavanagh (0-1), D C Reilly (0-1), E Farrell, JP Reilly, D S Reilly, A Gormley, T Doyle (0-2), D Farrell (1-3), D McKeon (0-4)

No action in championship for a few weeks as Longford are in action against Meath on Saturday week.

Juniors had a good win over Cashel in first round of Championship (no team to hand)

Next round of Cornafaen tournament against Lacken now postponed until next week.

Minors
Our U/14’s had a good win in the B Championship 13 a side against Carrick Sarsfields on Tuesday evening last.  Our juvenile amalgamation Colmcille/Clonbroney also had a good win over Ballymahon/Forgney in Edgeworthstown on Thursday evening last in a re-fixture of the Shield semi-final.  We now meet Granard/Ballymore in the final of this competition, players please check fixtures for details of this.  Training continues for all age groups as arranged by their trainers.  Well done to our Seniors who had a good win over St. Mary’s on Saturday evening in the championship and also to our Juniors who had a good win over Cashel on Sunday last.  The club would like to wish Joseph Murtagh and Claire Farrell the best of luck on their marriage next weekend. 

We wish to extend our deepest sympathy to Vera McKeon, Smear on the recent death of her mother.  Also to the Mulligan family, Rosduff on the death of Frank.  R.I.P.
