Club Notes from week ending June 8th

November 8, 2018

On the field….

Senior
The senior team are preparing for a tough battle against local neighbours St Columbas in the first round of the Senior Championship on Sunday evening next. Preparations are going well and the players and management are under no illusions of the task at hand. The objective is a win and a place in the second round. Injuries are clearing up so hopefully Ciaran, Cathal, Padraig and Ali will have a full squad to pick from on Sunday.
There were no matches played last weekend.

Minor
Our U/14’s beat St. Vincent‘s in the Division 2 league on Bank Holiday Monday and this brings them to the final where they play Ardagh. This game takes place on Saturday evening next at 4 p.m. and the venue is likely to be Pearse Park. Please check fixtures for confirmation of venue. We would hope that we will have a big turnout of support for the team at this game. The annual car bingo takes place on Friday night the 27th June at the Cross at 8 p.m.. Anybody who wishes to sponsor a line or a panel can do so by contacting P.J. Mulligan, Minor Club Secretary. We continue to wish all the students who are still sitting exams the best of luck. We also wish our Seniors the best of luck on Sunday evening next when they meet Mullinalaghta in the first round of the Championship in Pearse Park. Hard luck to the Bunlahy schoolboys team who lost to Cloontagh in the final of the 4B Championship.

Off the field….. (actually it was on the field !!)
A mass was held at Fr McGee Park in Sunday to celebrate the feast of St Colmcille. Fr McKeon said mass that was attended by all players and management aswell as members of the parish. Before mass, a meal was organised in the Club House for the players.
