Senior

County Final This Sunday

On Sunday, we contest the County Final for a second year in a row. We take on Longford Slashers at 4:15 and will be hoping to avenge last year’s defeat to Dromard. The team has prepared well and the only injury worries are Tommy Doyle (who picked up a knee injury against Killoe in the Semi Final) and Brendan McCabe (hamstring). You can check out our official Club website for information regarding the final and post best wishes on our guestbook. There will be merchandise on sale this week where you can purchase jerseys, flags etc in all the local shops. Hopefully a big crown will turn out and get behind the team on the day.

We would like to wish the Seniors the very best of luck on Sunday and hopefully they can bring the cup back to the cross.

We would like to take the opportunity to congratulate Paddy and Eilish Walsh on the recent birth of their  first baby-  Aodhan Patrick. Paddy is the sponsor of our Junior team jerseys and was part of the Junior panel that was defeated in the junior championship semi final recently.

Congratulations to our U/14 team who won the B Championship final on Tuesday 16th in Emmet Park by beating St. Vincent’s in a closely contested game.  Both sides played some great football during the course of the game and we thank St. Vincent’s for such a good game.  It was a draw at half time with Colmcille winning by four points at the final whistle on a score of Colmcille 3-14, St. Vincent’s 4-7.  We would like to thank all those involved in getting our team this far and also our supporters who turned out in such great numbers.

Colmcille team were as follows: Nathan Duignan, Jessica Healy, Martin Mulligan, Grainne O’Reilly, Aine O’Reilly, Gerard Mulligan, Conor Hawkins, Michelle Farrell (0-1), Cormac Hughes (0-2), Vincent Hourican (0-1), Fergal Sheridan, Ross McNerney (2-6), Shay McKeon (1-3).  Subs:  Cathal Reilly (0-1) for Fergal Sheridan, Shane Gray, Enda Macken, Andrew Blankley, Christopher Blankley, Graeme Bleakley, Amy McKeon.
