Sam Is Coming To Town!

The Sam Maguire Cup

One For The Diary: The countdown has well and truly began for the very special visit of Sam Maguire to the parish on Thursday the 2nd of April. The legendary cup will be one of the special features of the club's social night which takes place in the community centre. Medals for all of last year's winning teams, as well as players of the year awards will be handed out on the night.

Also taking place on the night will be the special €500 confined draw for yearly lotto ticket holders. We wish all yearly ticket holders good luck in the draw!

The club is hoping to make the night a memorable event and are hoping that all locals that have any association with the club lend their support.

Club Notes - March 2nd 2009:

Lotto:

Lotto took place on Saturday night. Numbers drawn were 5, 10, 19, 23. There was no winner of the jackpot. €20 winners were Pat Early, Eddie Stokes, David McManus, Peter Dolan c/o PJ Clancy, Eddie McCaffrey c/o Davitts.

Thanks to Eamon, Kevie, Dessie and Barry for their involvement in the draw over the past month. Also thank you to all those who sold or purchased yearly tickets.

Division Two:

Our senior team went down to local rivals Dromahaire in Division Two on Saturday evening by two points. Poor underfoot conditions meant that the game turned into a real battle of wills and try as they might our boys just could not cut the deficit despite a good second half performance. They now have a two week break until their next game.

Our division three side begin their campaign this Saturday away against Fenagh at 4.30pm. Your support is greatly appreciated.

Under 14's:

Our under 14's go up against Aughnasheelin in the first round of the 9-a-side competition this Saturday at Noon. Good luck to the team and management for the coming year.

Club Meeting:

A club meeting takes place on Wednesday the 11th of March in the Rowanberry. All members of the club are asked to attend.
