At a recent executive meeting held in the club rooms, the meeting was made aware that a special presentation will me made to Pearse Daly at the Longford GAA Allstars on Saturday night on recognition of his service to the GAA. Seamus Mc Keon and Peter Reilly will represent the Club at this function.  Dan Mulligan spoke on behalf of the Club in thanking all who coached and acted  as selectors to teams in 2009, including Pat Brady, Seamus Mc Keon, Sean Mc Guaran, TJ Reilly, Padraig Mulligan, Ciaran Farley and the under age coaches. Seamus Mc Keon also spoke on behalf of the Club and pointed out that although only the schoolboy team succeeded in bringing silverweare to the Club in 2010, we were represented in 6 finals and competed in a very broad range of levels offering football to all abilities.  Changes are pending on the Player Insurance Scheme, with more details to be available in January 2010.

In recent changes to GAA membership for 2010, one of the changes sees the new membership year for the GAA running from April 1st to March 31st in the following year. In order to be entitled to the rights of a full member, a person must have their fees paid to the club on a date before March 31st.

Finally, the National School Parents’ Association will hold a fundraser on St Stephens Day in Fr McGee Park where a fun/novelty game will take place where your support would be greatly appreciated.
