The Club Dinner Dance that was recently held in the Breffni Arms Hotel
(Saturday Feb 7th) was a great success with over 300 guests in
attendance. Among the attendees was former Colmcille locals Bishop Colm
O’Reilly, Eugene McGee as well as Fr McKeon, Fr Carraigy, County Board
Secretary Seamus Quinn and PRO John Duffy.
All 24 players from
the Senior Championship winning side received their championship medals
along with an inscribed replica jersey which they wore in the final.
The management team also received accolades in recognizing their
achievement. Gary Murtagh collected the player of the year award while
joint treasurers for 2008, Peter Reilly and Peter Murtagh received Club
Persons of the year along with logistics man John Reilly. The medals
were presented by Eugene McGee (Former Colmcille manager and brother of
the late Fr Phil and current GAA media pundit).
As usual, Myles
Reilly was the MC on the night and interviewed various guests during
the meal as well as offering some stories of his own to keep the crowd
entertained. After the meal and presentations concluded, the dancing
got under way to the great music provided by Night Fever.
The club would like to thank Eamon Gray and all staff at the Breffni Arms Hotel for providing the facilities including a fantastic meal. The club would also like to thank all those that helped out in arranging the night (you know who you are) and all those that attended and gave great support to the club. It was great to see such a turn out from young and old in the parish.
