Colmcille GFC Notes

With a month to go to the big cycle from Croke Park to Colmcille the excitement surrounding the event is beginning to build up nicely. The group are well into their training and have clocked up some serious kilometres. In preparation for the big day a meeting of all the cyclists will take place on Friday 3rd June in the meeting room in Fr. McGee Park at 9pm. All intending to cycle on the 25th June must be registered by the 3rd and there will be a final opportunity to register at the meeting. For insurance reasons registrations after this date cannot be accepted. In the meantime there are more Operation Transformation events to look forward too. On June 11th the Mr and Mrs Event night will take place. Full details next week. The postponed 12K Lake View Walk has been rescheduled for 9th of July. In the meantime the Sunday morning walks will continue to leave from the Cross. We encourage all to get back into the swing of things.
The Minor club intend to run their annual Car Bingo on July 8th. Full details will be available later.
On the playing field we wish to congratulate the school boys on winning the A championship. Well done to all involved. Our Reserve League 1 team were beaten by Emmet Og 0-11 to 1-09
Commiserations to the county seniors who were defeated by Laois in the Leinster Championship.
The Div. 1B team will resume their campaign against Rathcline on Saturday 28th May at 7.30pm in Clonbonny.
The 2011 GAA Cul Camps will once again take place during the summer months. These are an excellent way for children to get involved and learn new skills. The camps will cater for 6 to 13 year olds at a cost of €55 for the first child and €45 for every child in the family thereafter. There will also be nursery camps for 4 to 5 year olds at a cost of €30 per child. A registration evening will take place in the park from 18.30 to 19.30 on Friday 27th. There was no winner of the May 15th lotto draw. The numbers drawn were: 3, 8, 22, 29. Lucky Dip winners were: Anthony Brady, Sean Reilly, John Joe Smith and John Maguire. The lotto jackpot now stands at a massive €8,800. Be sure to get in with a chance to grab the cash. Envelopes are available from all local outlets or from executive members.
