Colmcille GFC Notes

November 8, 2018

A reminder that club membership of €30 is now due. It can be paid to any member of the executive and we request that it be paid as soon as possible.

Details of last week’s minor AGM will be available later.

The next Operation Transformation weigh in will take place in Mc Cabe’s on 12th March. As most of us already know the first weigh in was a huge success and it was a night of fantastic fun and craic. We encourage everyone to come along and join in on the sport. It is for a worthy cause and a rare opportunity to dish out some slagging, so don’t miss out!

The Sunday morning walk is going from strength to strength with huge numbers turning out to get some early morning exercise. The walks continue next Sunday, 6th March, starting from Smear Stores at 8.30am. Fr. Mc Gee Park will continue to be open on Tuesday evenings from 7.30 to 9.30pm and the step aerobics classes will also continue on Thursday nights in the community centre. As always, everyone is very welcome to participate in any of these activities.

The next big Operation Transformation event will take place during the May Bank Holiday weekend when a 13Km walk will take place. More details will be available closer to the time.

The first senior games of the season will be getting underway in the coming weeks. We are away to Clonguish in the Reserve League 1 and away to Fr. Manning Gaels in the Reserve League 3.

Commiserations to our Minor team who lost out to Clonguish Og at the weekend.

There was no winner of the Feb 20th lotto draw (11, 25, 26, 29). Lucky Dip winners were Paul Tracey, Aughagreagh, Damien Brady, C/O Creegan’s, John Daly, Arva and Micheal McNally, Ballinamuck.

The jackpot is nearing €8000 which is a fantastic prize. Envelopes are available in all local shops and from any executive member. Alternatively yearly lotto subscriptions can be obtained on the club website: www.colmcille.longford.gaa.ie.

Finally the club offers its congratulations to Martin Skelly on his appointment as chairman of the Leinster Council. We wish him every success in his new position.
