Colmcille GFC Notes

November 8, 2018

We wish the very best of luck to the Colmcille Ladies team who take on the Louth Champions in Fr. Mc Gee park on October 3rd at 1pm. The ladies had a fantastic victory in the county final and now they continue their campaign to the Leinster Championship. All support for the ladies will be very much appreciated. We once again wish them every success in the match.

Our Div. 1 team scored a narrow win over St. Columba’s in the re-fixed match in Mullahoran last Tuesday night. They had a point to spare in the end, winning on a score line of 1-7 to 0-9. The team is now fixed to play St, Mary’s in Higginstown on Saturday 2nd October at 5.30pm.

A reminder to keep the October Bank Holiday weekend free for a weekend of great craic. Firstly on Saturday 23rd Colmcille’s Got Talent will take place. This event promises to be hugely entertaining so we invite all the local talent to get involved. All those interested in taking part can contact Marie Keenan on 087 9032887 or Colm Ginty on 087 9912026. On Sunday the 24th there will be bingo in the marquee with some excellent prizes on offer. That will be followed by music and dancing with the Dance On Band later on Sunday night in the marquee. It promises to be a great weekend’s entertainment so don’t miss out.

We extend our congratulations to Longford Slashers on winning the county championship at the weekend. We would also like to congratulate Colin and Mark Smith and Philip Dobson who all hail from the parish. Commiserations must also go to our neighbours Dromard who put up a great fight in the closing stages of the match. Congratulations also to St. Vincents on winning the Minor A Championship.

The Club Church Gate collection amounted to €956. The club thanks everyone for their contributions.
