November 8, 2018

Lá na gClub will take place next weekend as part of a nationwide celebration of the G.A.A. Every club are organising events for the weekend and Colmcille are no exception. Our schedule kicks off with a Table Quiz on Saturday 8th in the Glenview at 9pm sharp. Every townland will compete against each other. Teams will be of four and admission will be €40 per table. Sunday’s events will begin with Mass at 1pm in Fr. Mc Gee Park weather permitting, if not the mass will move to the church in Aughnacliffe. Mass will be followed by on pitch entertainment including music, dancing from the O’ Reilly school of dancing, novelty acts, a barbeque and under age football blitzes. It promises to be a fantastic weekend of entertainment.

There continues to be an excellent response to the new lotto distribution plan. As ever we encourage the community to get involved as much as possible by completing an envelope and dropping it into the collection points in local shops and pubs. Anyone interested in purchasing a yearly lotto card can contact any member of the executive. At the moment the jackpot is heading for €4,000 so be sure to be in with a chance of winning.

The club would like to extend sympathy to the family of Aodh Brady on their recent bereavement. May he rest in peace.

Our Division 3 team just fell short against Longford Slashers after a great come back, suffering a 4 point defeat (1-7 to 2-8) on Friday 30th.
