Community Council - Pride of Parish - Event Saturday May 8th

November 8, 2018

Hello All

There has been a great energy in the community and parish of Mayo Abbey over the years and as I am in the privileged position of being the New Leader of This Energy, it is my duty to continue the good work of my predecessors. I have two messages:

Message One:   Mayo Abbey Spring Clean

Pride of The Parish was a national title obtained by Mayo Abbey and to ensure we have a nice place to live in we are having a Parish tidy up on,

Saturday MAY 8th between 11am and 1pm.

Let’s keep this simple and not over analysis it, and agree that there will be mistakes but as they say “better to have tried and failed than not have tried at all”, not sure who said that.

1.      Parish Clean up from Ballyglass to Facefield – Balla to Carramore 11am Start.

2.      Pick papers along the roads and ditches and bye roads

3.      Bring to Abbey park GAA pitch to dispose of in Ballinrobe waste skip. 1pm

4.      Each village or station area responsible for own area,

5.      There will be no leader’s just collective responsibility including young children and active ageing.

6.      Any house hold rubbish will be turned away please make sure this is adhered to.

7.      There will be a bouncy castle in GAA grounds for kids as we need kids to be “Proud of Mayo Abbey”

8.      I would like to thank sponsors of this event PEL a Mayo Abbey enterprise company and Ballinrobe waste.

9.      Just lets have fun and like the turf in the BOG the more help the better

Message Two:   Web Site

We will have a web site up and running by May 20th, so we need all information into Craig and Ineke Oates by May 8th or before.

Nothing will be to crazy for the site so as many ideas as possible especially from people who never used a computer.

1.      All ideas welcome

2.      Innovation page, History page

3.      Committee page.

4.      Old photos, new photos, crazy photos, cartoon photos

My mobile number is 087 2593813 and email is john@irelandfood.ie and with the help of God I will be picking paper on May 8th.

Thanks

John Daly
