Athlone Town are delighted to announce Console as one of their charities of choice for 2010. Those who don’t know about this charity might like to know Console are a Registered Charity supporting and helping people bereaved through suicide. We respect each individual’s unique journey through the grieving process following their tragic loss. Console promotes positive mental health within the community in an effort to reduce the high number of attempted suicides and deaths through suicide. It is hoped through this fundraising a community out reach programme will be set up in Athlone. For more information on Console visit www.console.ie
As part of this on the 30th of April at 4pm in Athlone Towncentre a 24 hour rowathon will be taking place to raise money for Console which will be completed by 4 local men from Athlone. The rowathon team is : Gerard Tiernan, John Tiernan, Gordon Rushe, Damien Mellet. We would like to encourage all supporters of Athlone Town to drop into Athlone Towncentre and show your support for this great cause and cheer the guys on.
