Intermediate:

Our Intermediate side defeated Enniscrone in the second round of the Benson Cup last Saturday afternoon at a windswept Quigbar. Playing with the aid of the strong wind in the opening period, Coolaney/Mullinabreena only managed to secure a one point advantage at the break. This was down to a mix of some poor finishing and loose defending with a general overall lacklustre prevailing. However, the team returned for the second half a far more determined outfit and a stirring, gutsy defensive effort against the elements resulted in a merited two point victory. Final score: Enniscrone 2.05, Coolaney/Mullinabreena 2.07.

Team: F Brennan, W Kivlehan, S Marren, C Gorman, S Kivlehan, A Walsh, J McGowan, M Conlon(0.1), B Coleman, C Connolly, D Doherty(0.1), T Sexton, A McGowan, K Finan(1.05), O Lee(1.0). Subs: P Dwyer for C Connolly, M Connolly for T Sexton, S O Brien for M Conlon, B Finnegan, J Connolly, K Duffy, S Coyle.

We are due to play St. Molaise Gaels in the league at Nace O’Dowd Park on Saturday neat March 14th at 4.30pm.

Underage Coaching:

Coaching for the U-8, U-10 and U-12 groups continues every Saturday from 10am to 11am at Nace O’Dowd Park. We encourage any parents within the club to come along with children of this age as we continue to promote active participation for all. This year the club has a number of extra trained volunteers available for these coaching sessions that promise to be most enjoyable for all involved.
