Minor:

Missing three players from their starting line up our minors were narrowly beaten by Tubbercurry after a keenly fought local derby at Kilcoyne Park on Sunday last. Tubbercurry were under pressure and some great runs by Sean Gorman from defence resulted in Eoin O Dowd finishing to the net. A second goal followed when a long range free from Enda Kivlehan which looked like going over the bar finished in the net. Both teams exchanged scores before half time with Tubbercurry narrowing the margin from frees. Tubbercurry came more into the game in the second half but our lads held out until the dying minutes of the game when Tubbercurry converted a penalty which proved to be the decisive score. Some great runs from James Conlon deserved some reward and one effort was cleared off the line by the Tubbercurry defence.. Final score Coolaney/Mullinabreena 2-5 Tubbercurry 1-10 This was a great display by our minors in their first match of the season  and hopefully more matches of this calibre will follow.Team was: Declan Mc Cormack,Sean Gorman,Aidan Coleman,Kieran Doddy,Raymond Connolly,James Conlon ,Enda Kivlehan (1-5), Sean Davey, Kevin Mc Donagh, Conor Gorman, Conor Mc Cormack, Eoin O Dowd (1-0), Criostoir Davey,Niall Gallagher,Joseph Henry.

Medal Presentation:

A Presentation for last year’s victorious U-14 team will take place on Saturday February 21st in St. Nathy’s Hall at 8.45pm. Eastern Harps legend and current Sligo Senior team selector, Paul Taylor will present the medals to the players on the night.

All are welcome and we hope for a good turn out for this panel of players that provided such entertainment last year by winning the League division two title and narrowly loosing out in a pulsating championship final.

Lotto Draw:

The first Lotto Members draw for 2009 will take place on the night of the underage presentation on Saturday February 21st. It is imperative that any outstanding tickets are returned before this to avoid missing the first draw. Thank you for your support.

Pitch Maintenance:

Some essential repair work was carried out recently on the playing surface
of the main playing pitch at Nace O’Dowd Park. The club wishes to notify all
that the main pitch is strictly out of bounds until further notice. This is critical
to the success of the resodding work and is in the interest of all who use the
facility. Thank you for your cooperation.

Club Meeting:

The next club meeting will take place on Monday February 23rd in St. Nathy’s Hall at 9 pm. All members are encouraged to attend.
