Coolaney/Mullinabreena GAA Notes May 18th ‘09

Intermediate:

 

Once again our intermediate league fixture last weekend fell foul of the inclement weather conditions. We are due to play St. Molaise Gaels next weekend in Grange on Saturday May 23rd at 7.30pm.

 

U-16:

 

Our U-16 side have qualified for the league division two ­­­­­­­semi final by virtue of finishing top of the group with eight wins from eight. The play this match against Drumcliffe on Wednesday May 20th in Nace O’Dowd Park at 7pm. Go along and support the lads.

 

U-14:

 

Well done to our U-14 team who finished the group stage of the league with two wins last week against St. Michaels and Geevagh. They have now qualified for the quarter final of the cup competition in which they will play Calry in Calry on Monday May 18th at 7pm. U-12:

 

Our U-12 team play away to St. Molaise Gaels on Tuesday May 19th at 7pm. They lost out to Owenmore Gaels last week. Panel:  Shane Gormally, Daniel Mullen, John Gilmartin, Barry Gorman, Kieran Tuohy, Niall Haran, Conor Haran, Enda Gallagher, Cathal Finan, Clyde Carroll, Nathan Mullen, Brendan Connolly, Oran Mulvey,  Paul Feely, Eamon Gorman, David Ruttledge.

 

U-8/-10:

 

The U-8 Blitz games were cancelled last weekend as the visiting teams were unable to turn up. The U-10 group play in a blitz in Castleconnor next Saturday morning.

 

Club Meeting:

 

The next club meeting will take place on Monday May 25th in St. Nathy’s Hall at 9.30pm. All members are encouraged to attend and the club again appeals for increased attendance.

 

Schools Competition:

 

Many thanks and well done to all the young scholars from Achonry and Rockfield National schools on entering the club’s art competition in conjunction with the 125 celebrations. The standard is extremely high and the winners will be announced in the coming weeks. Many thanks to Miss Murray in Achonry, Mr. Henry in Rockfield and all the teachers involved for their cooperation with this venture.
