Club Hero Finale:
A largeattendance of over two hundred guests turned out last Saturday night at theSligo Park Hotel to honour the six club heroes at the conclusion of the clubhero fundraising initiative. The total amount raised was revealed as €90,141.25 to the delight and amazementof all present.
John Marrenwas MC for the evening and the six club heroes namely Caroline Coleman, JanetteMarren, John Brennan, Johnny Ruttledge, Paddy O’Brien and Padraig McHugh werehonoured on the night and presentations were made by Club Chairman BrendanKivlehan and Club President Walter Kivlehan. Johnny Ruttledge and team wererevealed as the team with the highest individual amount with €27k. Apresentation was made to Barnardos representative John Wills as the charitybeneficiary of Club Hero 2012. The club would like to congratulate and thankthe six heroes and their respective teams on what was a remarkable success.Many thanks also to each and every person who supported the initiative in anyway.
The proceedsare ring fenced for development purposes and we now have a substantial platformto move forward with the planning stages of our park development ambitions.
Minor:
Our minorteam play the A2 final against Curry next Saturday October 20th inTourlestrane at 7.30pm under floodlights. It’s a great achievement to reach thefinal and we urge supporters to come in force and back the team.
