Corinthians blitz De La Salle

On a fine afternoon in Cloonacauneen Park Corinthians ran riot over visitors De La Salle Palmerston the contest started tamely enough with both sides swopping penaltys with outhalf Shane Mullally converting for the home side and scrum half Conor Hickey responding for De La Salle.Then the flood gates opened with Corinthians running in for five trys before the break.The first was scored by flanker Rory Connellan after a turnover the second came a few minutes later with interplay by fullback Darin Classen winger Finn Gormly and finished off by center Eoin Griffin.The third came from a great take in the front of the lineout with excellent throwing by hooker Joey Merrigan and again Griffin making good ground to find Classen on his shoulder to get in for the touchdown.Scrum half Mark Dolan got in for the forth after a great line kick by Classen,The fifth try was scored after two players were sin binned by Ulster ref Richard Kerr and he awarded the home side with a penalty and flanker Connellan took advantage of same and got in for the touchdown. Mullally converted four of the trys.The half time whistle followed leaving Corinthians leadingby thirty six points to three.

Winger James Buckley got in for two trys after the break with the home side backs running great lines.The visitors got in for a fine try after the home side took there foot off the peddle captain Philip De Barra was awarded the touchdown which was converted by Hickey.Griffin finished off the scoring for the home side after good handling by the front three.De la Salle got in for another score late in the game prop Keith Taite was the scorer.The final score was Corinthians 55—De La Salle Palmerston 15.This was a great performance for the home side with all the team playing for each other.There next outing is away to Queens next Saturday.
