County GAA honours for The Neale

The Neale defeated Lahardane in the county Division 4 league final in Balla pitch last Sunday, winning by nine points to six. The standard of play was determined by the treacherous underfoot conditions while incessant rain spilled down in the second period. Both teams had a long lay off since their last league games but it was The Neale who took full advantage of the wind in the first period, leading at the interval by 0-6 to 0-2.

The Neale continued to dominate the game in the second period, with Kieran Hughes and his brother Owen solid in defence, Pat Casey and later pat Hopkins sparked up front. For many of the younger players it was their first county success with the club.
