Crosshaven u12s marched into the quarter finals of the Albert Conboye Cup after a 3-0 win over Leeside A in Camden on Tuesday.

The midfield double of Fionn and Leo were well on top despite being outnumbered by Leeside and played plenty of excellent balls through to the high speed strike force of Kieran and Luke. However it was the clinical finishing of Rhys that sealed the fixture with a hat-trick before half time. In defence, Jim had his hands full with a big lone striker and was very disciplined in his team. Ashton and Billy helped keep the attack at bay from their corner back positions and effectively shut down the attacking wingers, as well as bringing good ball into the Crosser attack. Rian had little to do in the first half but and made some good saves and distributed the ball well.

In the second half, Shay and Thomas took over in midfield. Fionn O'D came on into goal and kept his own clean sheet, albeit he had to work hard to do so – making some spectacular saves. Luka and Tadhg also came on and saw plenty of ball and Crosser could have added to the tally on another night. It would have been harsh on a galant Leeside who were generous in defeat. The full squad of 14 lads all contributed to a great victory and we all look forward to the next round.
