Crosshaven U13s faced Carrigaline Hibernians away on the all weather Ballea pitch on Saturday.

November 8, 2018

Crosshaven U13s faced Carrigaline Hibernians away on the all weather Ballea pitch on Saturday. On a wet afternoon, a depleted Crosshaven squad conceded a goal in the first half to a long range unstoppable strike by Hibs. Another peach of a shot at the start of the second half left Clinton Moore picking the ball from the back of the net for a second time without having put so much as a foot wrong and left the 11 men of Crosshaven with a mountain to climb. That is exactly what they proceeded to do. Evan Canty, Joe Glossop and their new partner on the left Billy Moore shut up shop as Joe Wilson moved out to midfield to lead the charge. A tireless Adam Gumley got to grips on the middle of the field, leaving Liam Maguire and Eoin O'Halloran to push forward. Oisin Doran Noonan, more renowned for stopping goals than scoring them, kept up his recent run of goals with a well taken finish. Despite the rain and fast paced pitch, Crosshaven were winning all the battles and Brian Lucey was holding the ball up well for his team. A free on the left hand touchline was perfectly flighted by Adam Gumley and with almost the entire Crosshaven team in the penalty area, the Hibs keeper couldn't hold the ball and Thomas O'Mahony was perfectly placed to score the last gasp equaliser on his debut. 2-2 was the final score.
