This game was played in fine weather conditions and was a good Second Division game full of trills and spills.
The first half had the two teams scoring in a tit-for-tat fashion with no more than two points between them until the last few minutes of the half when the experienced Kenneth Meegan rattled in a goal for the Mochtas pushing the difference between the teams to four. Robert O’Hanlon reduced the deficit to leave the half time score Roche 0-7 Mochtas 1-7.
The second half proceeded in the same manor as the first on the score board until the tenth minute when Meegan repeated goal poaching feat making the difference 4 points again. The Mochtas then out scored Roche four points to 1 and sealed the result. Roche rallied and tagged on four more points but could not find the goals needed to save the game.
