St. Patricks GAA Club – Drangan/Cloneen Heartsafe Charity Cycle

Drangan and Cloneen Heartsafe Group hosted a Charity Cycle around Slievenamon on Saturday 13th of September 2014. The Charity Cycle ride was organised by Tommy Strappe to raise funds for the Drangan and Cloneen Heartsafe Group in conjunction with St Patrick's GAA Club to raise money to purchase an additional AED for the GAA Club & to cover the costs to train up all coaches, as well as funds to support the ongoing maintenance of the two AED's on the parish. Following the success of this cycle a new defibrillator was presented to St. Patricks GAA club on Saturday night last for use by our teams.

The defibrillator is in memory of the late Seán Strappe of Kylenagranagh and Clonmel a former St. Patricks under age player. A plaque in memory of Seán will be erected in the GAA clubrooms at Anner Park Cloneen.

While we hope not to need it we are delighted to have the defibrillator just in case. The Drangan-Cloneen Heart Safe group was represented by Úna O’Brien, Betty Egan and Jack Hickey while the Strappe Family was represented by Tommy, Susan, Jamie, Joe, John and Tricia. We say a very sincere thank you to all who assisted with this project.
