Drom-Inch weekly club notes

GolfClassic 2010
The annual Drom-Inch GAA golf classic tookplace on Friday last in Rathdowney Golf course. A great enjoyable day was hadby all participants and the fine weather added to the event. We would like tothank all the sponsors without whom it would not be possible to host such anevent. The prize giving ceremony was held in Younge’s later that evening and agreat night was had by all.
Intermediate
Our Intermediate hurlers played Clonakennyin the latest round of the championship and eventually went down on a score of2-9 to 0-11. The next game will be in a couple of weeks but training continuesand it is essential that all panel members attend training in the coming weeks.The County Intermediate league final is fixed forFriday 13th August at 7.30pm in Templemore with Moyne Templetuohyproviding the opposition.
 
JuniorHurling
Our juniors play Gortnahoe Glengoole onFriday night in Gortnahoe at 7.30pm in the penultimate game in the league stageknowing a win is essential if we are to have any hope of advancing to the knockout stages.
 
JuniorFootball
The Junior footballers started theirchampionship campaign with a hard fought victory over Loughmore Castleiney on ascore of 1-15 to 1-7. They now play Boherlahen in the next round on Monday 26thJuly in the Ragg.
 
MinorHurling
Our minors play Moycarkey Borris in theRagg on Wednesday night at 7.30pm.
 
 
JuvenileNews:  
Under 6
Under 6,8 & 10 training next Wednesdayat 6.30pm in the Ragg.
 
Under 6 mini camp – Well done to all thechildren who participated in last weeks under 6 hurling and football camp, itwas a great success and special thanks goes to Frances McAllister and RhonaCarroll for organising & running the two day event.
 
Under 12
Under 12 Mid Semi-Final has been fixed forTuesday 27th July against Holycross, time and venue TBA.
 
The under 12s were given the brilliantopportunity to travel to Croke Park and play on the sameground as their heroes last Tuesday. Arriving up with many other Munster clubs, the boys did the parish proud playingagainst Ruan Mhor, Abbeyside of Waterford and Murroe Boher of Limerick.Plenty of goals and points were scored. Fantastic skills were portrayedwith many showing signs that it will not be their last time to play in Croke Park.The boys went on to soak in the memories of times gone by in Croke Park,and the history of the GAA in general, during the tour of the Stadium andMuseum. It was a great day had by all. Even some of the Mammies were boldenough to get their picture taken on the heavily-guarded sacred grass. TheJuvenile Club would like to sincerely thank all involved in organising thememorable trip.

Under 16 Hurling 
Our under 16’s defeated Boherlahen onMonday in the latest round of the championship. In their final round, the under 16s are out againstUpperchurch/Drombane on Monday 26th July at 7:30pm in Drombane
 
 
VHI Cul camp 2010
The club held its annual VHI Cul Camp lastweek and it proved to be a great success with all the kids having a great timewhilst also improving their skills. Thanks to Kevin Butler and his team ofhelpers and to all those who helped in any way throughout the week.
