Dromard Division 3 Final Match Report

November 7, 2018

Dromard collected the 2007 Div 3B title on Friday evening last when accounting for Fr Manning Gaels (2 – 10 to 0 – 8) in an entertaining game played in front of a big crowd at Monaduff. The first half was a well contested affair with Dromard leading by the minimum margin at half time (0 -6 to 0 – 5). The highlight of the first half was the wonderful scoretaking by Peadar Faughnan and Mick Kane for Dromard while the bulk of Fr Manning Gaels came from well taken free kicks from Michael Mulleady.

Dromard came out firing on all cylinders in the second half and clocked up 1 – 3 without reply in the first ten minutes, the goal coming from Jimmy Kiernan who done well to claim a high ball on the edge of the square from a John McNaboe free and score from a very tight angle. These quick scores killed the game as a contest and young substitute Ciaran McStay planted the ball to the back of the net with three minutes remaining to finish the scoring. Best for a hard working Dromard team were Ronan McIntyre in goals, James Conefrey, James Mimnagh, John Sheridan and Brendan McLoughlin in defence, Graham Owens and Peter McIntyre in midfield, John McNaboe, Emmet Masterson, Mick Kane and man of the match Peadar Faughnan who finished with four points from play, best for a gallant Drumlish team were Aron Quinn, Liam Gill, Mick Mulleady and John Davis,
