On Saturday 10th October last we hosted a very successful blitz here in Dunmore. Eight clubs competed in some thrilling matches watched on by a large crowd of parents and friends.
The competition was won by Annaghdown club who beat Tuam Stars in the final. In the 3rd and 4th place playoff Dunmore MacHales overcame Milltown.
Headford, Cortoon Shamrocks, Caherlistrane and Kilkerrin-Clonberne were the other clubs who competed in the blitz where some outstanding football was played by all clubs.
On the Dunmore side there was some good team play from everyone on the squad in all positions on the field and every player played a part in putting an end to our losing streak of recent weeks.
Many thanks are due to all the parents who brought sandwiches and snacks and who helped to provide marvelous hospitality to the visiting clubs, it was really appreciated.
Thanks also to Barry Ward and Ciaran Redington who refereed the games and to anybody who helped make the day the sucess that it was.
