Edenderry BNS Hurlers travel to Kilkenny

Last Tuesday the hurlers of Scoil Muire Banrion, Edenderry travelled to Kilkenny to take on St Patrick’s De La Salle in a challenge match.

After game full of good hurling, the two teams could not be separated, and finished on a scoreline of Scoil Muire Banrion 1-10, St Patrick’s De La Salle 2-07.

The game was refereed by Edenderry man Killian McGlynn who is a teacher at St Patrick’s.

St Patrick’s De La Salle – based in Kilkenny City – has strong connections with the James Stephen’s GAA Club, with principal none other than Kilkenny manager and James Stephen’s clubman Brian Cody.

After the game the Edenderry lads were brought into the school where Cody signed autographs, and gave the boys a great talk about hurling.
