William Curley was the United hero when he was on hand to dispatch the ball home after the keeper could only parry brother Michaels stinging shot in the first minute of Extra Time. William was an early substitute for William Henley who had to leave the field with a serious injury and everyone at the club would like to wish him well.

Brideview was made up with a combination of A & B team panel and started with Billy Sheehan in goal with a back four of Kieran Fraser, Kieran Casey,John Paul Grey and Aaron Pratt. Paul Kearney and William Henley were centre midfield and were flanked by Stephen Pratt and Thomas McGrath with Michael Curley and David McInerney up front. In the opening half Billy Sheehan had to make a full length save to keep out Pinewood while at the other end JP Grey headed just wide and Thomas McGrath shot over. Paul Kearney had the ball in the net only for a free kick to be given for a foul in the box and the game stayed 0-0 till the break. The opening 20 mins of the second half it was all Brideview with William Curley coming close twice as well as David McInerney. Pinewood had shouts for a penalty turned away and were really testing the resolved of the United defence but Sheehan once again saved well. Jamie Murphy,Kevin Curley and Pedro Enrique were all introduced in the second half and Stephen Pratt,David McInerney and Thomas McGrath made way. Aaron Pratt and JP Grey made several clearing headers before the game ended and headed into extra time. The first minute of extra time yielded the all important goal as William Curley pounced on the parried shot from brother Michael. United held out and cleared a corner late on to claim their coveted title of Tony Bolger Cup Champions.
Captain Kieran Casey accepted the Cup on behalf of the team and thanked the managers for all their work. He also thanked the referee and assistants as well as the thanking the Pinewood team for a very tough and sporting game. Before accepting the cup on behalf of not the A or B team but ' UNITED' he complimented the Kinsalebeg club for the wonderfully turned out pitch
