Elphin GAA Club notes 10th Sept 2018

Hard luck to the Seniors who lost to St Faithleachs on Saturday last.  Please see match report for more details.  They take on Pearses on Sunday next, please come out and support.  Best of luck to team and management.

 

Elphin Ballinameen U12 Summer League v St. Michaels in Orchard at 7pm on Monday 10th
Minor Championship game v Roscommon Gaels on Thursday at 7pm in Lisnamult. They also play Kilmore/Shannon Gaels on Sunday next at 11.30. 
U14 Garda Cup is provisionally fixed for Thursday evening v Kilmore/Shannon Gaels/St. Ronan’s in the Orchard at 6.45.
The U17 Regional Competition kicks off on Friday 14th. We are grouped with Strokestown/St. Barry’s/Kilglass for this competition and the group will play St. Brigids in Strokestown at 8pm
Results:
Our U12’s drew with St. Ciarans on a score line of 16pts each and beat St. Faithleachs 22pts to 16. 
Our U16’s have finished their campaign for this year being beaten by Boyle and Kilmore/Shannon Gaels/St. Ronan’s. 
The U14’s beat Kilglass/St. Barry’s in a hard fought  game on Thursday last and beat them 2-10 to 3-9.

 

Congratulations to Fintan Cregg and Emma O’Dowd who go married at the weekend.

 

ELPHIN GAA MERCHANDISE DAY
When: Saturday 22nd September 2018
Time: 10.00am to 1.00pm
A full range of sizing samples will be available and staff to assist with sizing.  KC sports will take your order and full payment on the day (Unfortunately they cannot accept cheques or card payments).  A receipt will be issued and KC will return with full order for collection on Saturday 20th October.  Please retain your receipt as proof of purchase

 

The club would like to thank John Willie Conroy who has stepped down as manager for our u16s.  Willie has shown great dedication to club as a coach and has been a great mentor to the lads.  He is finishings on a high note with the current team as thry won the division 2 league this year.

 

Elphin Ladies
All Ireland Ladies Finals Sunday the 16th September. There are a few places left on the bus for our annual trip to Croke Park. Anyone interested in travelling should contact John Keane.
ROSCOMMON LADIES DEVELOPMENT DRAW:
Tickets are available for the 2018/19 monthly draws from any of the Ladies Club committee members. We have girls involved in County Development squads from u13, u14, u15, u16 & u17 and the funds raised from this draw ensures that this development work continues. Our girls on the u13 & u15 squads took part in the intercounty blitz in Bekan on Saturday last.
U16 training resumes this week ahead of our Div 1 quarter final game v Padraig Pearses.Date for our u18 County Final v St. Barrys to be confirmed.

 

Best of luck to Conor Beirne ,Liam Butler and the Roscommon masters team in the all-ireland shield final on Saturday in drumlish at 1pm.

 

The numbers drawn in this week's lotto are 9, 14, 29, 30.  There was no winner.  Lucky dip winners were John Keane, Colm Finnerty, Pauric Flanagan and Martie Nolan Co Meath.
