Elphin GAA CLUB NOTES 12th DEC 2016

Sunday was a day of double celebrations with two County titles returning to the Club. The Elphin-Ballinameen U20 Team captured the Division 2 Championship title with a 1-10 to 0-10 win over Oran. Well done to the players, the Management Team of Jim McLoughlin, Fintan Cregg and Shane Beirne and all involved.

Congratulations to our Scór na nÓg Set Dancing Team and trainer Micheál Gunn on winning their County title. They have now qualified for the Connacht Final on January 15th in Claremorris.

Commiserations to our Instrumental Music Group who missed out on a title, despite great performances.

Anyone interested in taking part in the Scór na nÓg Table Quiz is asked to contact Micheál on 086 312 2897. Participants must be under 17 on January 1st 2017 to be eligible.

Well done

To Fintan Cregg and his Connacht team mates on qualifying for the Inter-Provincial Final by defeating Leinster on Saturday evening. The Final takes place in Carrick on Saturday at 2pm.

Michael O’Callaghan Cup

The annual Michael O’Callaghan Cup game will be held, weather permitting, on St Stephen’s Day in the Orchard Park at 2pm. This year’s game will be contested between an U-25s Team managed by Noel Carney and an Over 25s managed by Cathal Brady. Admission is optional and proceeds will be shared between our Pitch Development Fund and Mayo-Roscommon Hospice.

Elphin GAA Lotto

There was no winner of Saturday’s Club Lotto Jackpot, the numbers drawn were 1, 14, 26 and 28. The Lucky Dip winners of €25 were Padraig McDermott, Clooneybrennan; Vincent Beirne, Convent Road; Peadar and Kathleen McCaffrey, Tullyloyd and Aisling Rock, Longford. The Jackpot now stands at €10,100 and this Saturday’s Draw will be held in The Central Bar. Entry is just €2 and envelopes are available in local shops or you can play now here .

Coaching Course

Roscommon GAA is running an On-line Foundation Level Coaching Course. You can complete six theory modules on-line in your own time and all applicants will be brought to a central location for a three hour practical session in January.
