Elphin GAA CLUB NOTES 17th AUG 2015

November 8, 2018

The Seniors defeated Castlerea by 2-9 to 1-10 in the Championship on Sunday in Strokestown. They will face St. Croans in the last round, full details of fixture tbc.

The Juniors were unlucky to suffer a 1-13 to 1-12 defeat to Michael Glaveys B in the Championship on Wednesday. Without a number of experienced players the match gave younger players the opportunity to shine and there were fine displays from Donie Brady, Luke Mollahan, Dermot Reilly, Dima Kelly and Cillian Fox. They host Clann na nGael C in the next round on Wednesday at 7:30pm in the Orchard.

The Minors enjoyed a 4-14 to 2-14 win over Kilbride in the Championship. Their rescheduled game against St. Aidans will determine a play in the County Semi-Final. The U-16 are away to Kilbride in the County Semi-Final on Sunday at 11:45am and your support would be appreciated.

The U-14s received a walk-over from Boyle B on Tuesday evening.

The U-12 were defeated by Oran in a very high scoring and exciting game last Monday evening week; the game ending 12-9 to 10-6. They were also defeated by Kilbride yesterday evening (Monday).

The Club hosted a very successful and enjoyable U-10 Go Games Blitz in the Orchard on Saturday. The Coaches would like to thank all the parents who very generously prepared refreshments for the teams and all who helped out on the day; it was most appreciated.

Coaching for U-10s, U-8s and U-6s continues on Saturday at 11am and will involve a blitz against Western Gaels. Parents are asked to have players in for 10:40am and that mouthguards must be worn.

Congratulations and best wished to U-10 Coach Darren Oates and Carly Elliot who got married last Friday.
