Elphin GAA CLUB NOTES 1st Dec 2014

November 8, 2018

A small number of tickets remain for this Friday's 125 Celebration Banquet in the Landmark Hotel, Carrick on Shannon. It's a night not to be missed and includes the launch the second volume of our Club History, the announcement of the Team of 35 years and live music from Slider. Special Guests on the night include Uachtaráin CLG Liam Ó Neill and Kerry Star Aidan O'Mahony. Tickets, priced at €35, are available from Coman Brady, Anne Rock, Caroline Beirne, Martin Travers, Niall Dockery, Paddy O'Connor, Morris Meats, The Central Bar and The Elphin Chop Shop. Those who have booked tickets over the phone are asked to arrange for collection as early as possible this week as final numbers need to be confirmed with the Hotel in advance. Attendees are asked to be at the Hotel for 8pm and the meal will be served at 8:30pm sharp.

The “Team of 35 years” is being selected by former Club Officers and supporters will also have a chance to get involved by making their own selection. Specially marked envelopes are available in local shops and the supporters selection that most closely matches that of the judging panel will win a Christmas Hamper. Entry to this competition costs €2 or you can enter on-line via the section on the right hand side of the home page and receive three attempts for €5. On-line entries close at 10pm on Wednesday.

The Under 12 team had an enjoyable end of year trip to Zipit Adventures at Lough Key on Saturday. The trip was financed by the player's sponsored Solo Run event which took place in October and the funds will also benefit their future coaching needs. Thank you to all who assisted in organising the day and also to those who supported the sponsored Solo Run.

The final ABC/Nursery Coaching Session of the year took place in the Community Centre last Saturday morning. It proved to be a very successful programme and the Club wishes to thank all the children who participated and all the parents and coaches who helped out over the last six weeks. The Club hopes to run a follow-up ABC/Nursery programme for 5 – 8 year olds in February.
