Elphin GAA CLUB NOTES 1st JUNE 2015

November 8, 2018

The Seniors suffered a 1-11 to 2-7 defeat to Boyle in Round 2 of the Championship on Sunday. They play the same opposition in the League on Sunday at 2pm in Boyle.

Best of luck to all our players commencing their Leaving and Junior Cert Exams this week. A special training session for Minor Players who are not doing Exams will take place on Wednesday at 8pm.

The past week was a very busy one for our U-10 team. On Wednesday evening we took up the invitation from our neighbours Strokestown to participate in the Shane Kelly Cup and after two tough games against Strokestown and Shannon Gaels in the group stage we progressed to the Final where we were beaten by Tulsk in a thrilling encounter. On Saturday we travelled to St. Croans for the Go Games blitz series and a very enjoyable day was had by all. Many thanks to both Strokestown and St. Croans for their hospitality. Coaching resumes on Saturday at 10am and any child from the parish who hasn't yet attended is more than welcome to still join up with us – the more the merrier!

The U-8s begin their Go Games Blitz Season on Saturday at 11am. The event will be hosted by Shannon Gaels and full details will be distributed via SMS.

The Club extends its sympathies to Iggy Geraghty and family on the death of his sister Mary Loane in Tyrone. Ar dheis Dé go raibh a h-anam dílis.

There was no winner of Sunday's Club Lotto Draw, the numbers drawn were 10, 14, 22, 23. The four Lucky Dip winners of €25 were Nelius D'Arcy, James Gilligan, Liam Butler and Michael Donlon (Lucan). This week's Draw takes place in the Central Bar and the Jackpot is worth €2,100. Play on-line at https://www.locallotto.ie/play.asp?LL_ID=321
