Elphin GAA CLUB NOTES 1st Sept 2014

The Seniors will face St. Aidans in the Championship Relegation Play-off on Saturday at 6:15pm in Kilbride and your support in this important game would be appreciated. 

All Mens and Ladies Coaches, and anyone who is considering coaching in the future, is invited to attend a special Workshop in the Orchard on this Friday and Saturday. Friday's session takes place in the Gym at 7:30pm and features the theory elements of the programme and on Saturday at 10:30am Connacht GAA Coach Cathal Cregg will give a practical demonstration of the GAA 15 Injury Prevention Warm-up and that will be followed at 11:30 by a Fitness with the Ball and Goalkeeping Workshop. Minor training resumes this evening (Tuesday) at 7pm. They face Kilbride in the Championship on Friday at 7pm in Kilbride and any parents who are available to bring players to the game are asked to contact any member of the Management Team. 

The Under 16s had a comfortable win over St. Ronans and in doing so qualified for the County Final in a few weeks time. 

The Under 12s were defeated by Clann na nGael in the League on Sunday, they resume training on Wednesday at 7pm and host St. Ciarans in the next round of the League on Sunday morning at 11:30. 

The Under 8s and 6s had a very enjoyable day at the County GoGames Blitz, which was held in the Connacht GAA Centre on Saturday. 

The Underage Review Committee met last week to discuss the implementation of their proposals and their plans will be rolled out over the next few weeks. 

Well done to Rossa Brennan Kelly and Ciara Higgins who recently refereed the INTO Go Games matches in Croke Park during the interval in the drawn game All-Ireland Semi-Final between Kerry and Mayo. 

A reminder that the annual membership period for the Gym now runs from September 1st to August 31st of the following year and that existing access fobs will be deactivated. The membership fee is €50 (Student fee €30) and Membership Forms are available by contacting Gerry O'Rourke on 086-383640. 

There was no winner of last week's Club Lotto. Numbers drawn: 4, 15, 23, 29. The Four Lucky Dip winners of €25 each were John Gormley; Dick Cryan, Carrowreagh; Gerry McDermott, Roscommon Town and Michael Maguire, New York.
