It is with great sadness that I report the untimely and tragic death of Enda Hughes R.I.P. A member of the prominent Hughes family from Caherduff, The Neale, Enda was a Garda stationed in Dundalk. From a family steeped in G.A.A. Enda was a member of Louth club Dowdallshill for the last number of years. He won Junior championships with them in 2003 and 2005. He also lined out for the Louth County Team in 2003.

A Large crowd gathered in St Marys church Cong today (tuesday) for his funeral mass which was celebrated by his uncle Fr. John Hughes. A large guard honour was performed by our club, we were joined in the guard of honour by members of Enda’s adoptive club Dowdallshill. There was also a large representation from An Garda Siochana. Enda was predeceased at an early age by his mother Maura, today he was buried along side her. Enda is mourned by his heartbroken father Patrick, brothers Declan, Donal, Kieran and Eoin, Sisters Patricia, Claire and Geraldine, Sister in laws Jenny, Marie and Eimear Nieces Ciara, Maura and Ally, Nephews Ronan and Kevin and his beloved girlfriend Lisa O’Brien, extended family, collegues, neighbours and friends.
