For those who regularly read GAA Club notes online extending a Céad Míle Fáilte might seem strange. But these are strange and exciting times we live in. Society has changed and the pace of change is increasing all the time. there is no point in trying to stop it, we must learn to accept and live with it. In the parish of Rathcormac, Bartlemy and Kildinan the biggest change we have seen in the last few years is the huge increase in population and the diversity of cultures which we now have in our midst. Some people shake their heads and think that things will never be the same again. That is true of course, but with change comes challenges and opportunities. In the GAA club we welcome new members in a very special way. The GAA is basically an organization which promotes hurling, football, camogie and ladies football. New players, new supporters, new mentors and new members are always welcome. In our community now are people who may have played Gaelic games with other clubs and we would love to see them throw in their lot with Bride Rovers. These are also many people who have never played or maybe never seen Gaelic games played. These too are welcome to join our club. Joining a GAA club is a great way to make friends and get to know the community. Of course people are shy in coming forward but on behalf of Bride Rovers GAA Club I wish to extend the hand of friendship to all. Shortly the club will be having a special event to explain what the club is about, how it works and how it caters for players from under 6 up to adult levels.
