FÉILE PEILE 2018 – GONE BUT WILL NEVER BE FORGOTTEN:

November 8, 2018

Memories of the 2018 Féile Peile na nÓg will live long in the memories of our boys and girls teams forever. The boys and girls of Moynalvey/Kiltale did themselves, their families, their parish and their club proud over the weekend, both on and off the pitch.

Both teams acquitted themselves well, with the boys getting to their Shield Final only to be defeated by Brittany, while our girls lost out at the Quarter Final stage of the Cup to St. Mary’s of Donore. However, the main thing is friendships were forged with our visiting teams Parke Keelogues Crimlin boys from Mayo and Lancashire Girls from the UK which will last a life time.

Both the club and the Boys & Girls teams would like to thank the respective management teams, Brian Gilsenan, Anthony Quinn and Tommy Dunne who were assisted by Tossie Byrne and David Sweeney, while the girls were under the tutorage of Joe Murphy, Marion Sinnott, Libby & John Deegan.

A massive thanks to all who helped prepare/decorate our facilities before and throughout the event.

The pitch looked pristine, a word of thanks to Jody and Valerie for their work in the weeks leading up to the event. One thing we weren’t lacking was support, especially Saturday morning hosting our two home games against our visitors, when not only parents were in attendance but most of the parish!

To all volunteers who assisted with sign erecting, decorations, providing food/baking, the tuck shop/teas/coffees, entertainment, PA systems, hiring of buses – there’s too many of you to mention individually but your work was most definitely appreciated by all!!

Thanks to our caterer Tony Brennan and his helpers, Shane Heraghty for the entertainment and to our event photographer John McManus who captured many of the weekend’s memories on camera.  Endless amount of photographs of the weekend can be found on John’s website www.Johnmcmanusphotography.com.

To all who sponsored gear or anything else for the weekend, a most sincere thanks – without your contributions this fantastic event would not have been the success it was.

Community spirit in Moynalvey/Kiltale was alive and kickin’ over the weekend!

Last but not least, there is a special group of people which volunteered endless hours of their time over the last few months in organising hosting the Féile, from attending Féile meetings, co-ordinating Garda vetting, ordering gear etc and much much more!!

Thank You Trish, Pam, Leonora, Alan & Micko – You all did a superb job!!
