At Corofin on Monday we overcame Barna in the first round of the Senior Football Championship on the score line of 0-18 to 1-5. We started well and lead by eight points before Barna had there first score after sixteen minutes of play. Frankie Burke had our first point after a minute followed by a pointed free from Damien Burke, with Mathias Coleman adding our third. Brendan Dooley added another and then followed three in a row from Frankie and with Mathias adding his second to give us a 0-8 to 0-0 lead. Brendan Dooley, Mathias and Damien finished our first half scoring with a point each to leave us ahead by 0-11 to 0-3 at the break.
After the break Damien Burke scored after a minute and our next three points came from Frankie Burke and a point each from Niall and Mathias Coleman while sub Michael Newell got the final score of the afternoon seeing us safely into the next round.
