SENIORS

The Seniors were in action again over the weekend against Cavan Gaels in Division 2 up in Terry Coyle Park.  On a bitterly cold evening, the game was played out in very difficult conditions and against a strong wind we trailed 1-5 to 0-3 at halftime.  Despite the Gael’s opening the second half with two quick points, our lads showed tremendous battling qualities and notched up 10 unanswered points in the last 20 minutes to claim a hard-fought 0-13 to 1-7 victory. It is hoped now that this can give the side some momentum as we seek to get our promotion push back on track.  Next up is a home game against Drumlane at 6.30pm on Saturday the 19^th April.

JUNIORS         

The Juniors at last begin their Division 4 campaign at home to Denn this Saturday at 6pm.  They will be eager to make amends for a very disappointing season last year and will hope to be challenging for promotion to Division 3.  This match will quickly be followed by visits to Cuchullains and Killygarry over the following two weekends

MINORS

The Minors continued their good start to the season when they hosted Ballinagh on Wednesday last.  Goals from Barry Reilly and Philip Tinnelly helped the young Stars to a 2-16 to 0-8 victory as they registered their fifth consecutive victory.  For a more detailed match report please log onto www.kingscourtstars.ie. JUVENILES

The juvenile season got under way last week.  First up were the U-14’s who faced Ramor Utd down the park on Tuesday night.  A 10 goal thriller ensued and despite a tough start, the home side battled back to edge out a two point victory.  Next up is to trip to Bailieboro on Tuesday 8^th April, with a home tie against Castlerahan on the 15^th.

The U-12’s also started with a home tie last week when they faced Crosserlough on Thursday evening. However they could not match their elders as a strong visiting side won out in the end.  This week, they face a trip to Ramor on Thursday 10^th before a home tie with Castlerahan on 17^th . All U-12 & U-14 games have 6.45pm throw in.

Finally, the U-16’s continue to train hard at the moment and face a challenge match against Moynalty this week, before the commencement of their league campaign later this month.  Details of these matches will be available soon, hopefully!

ROLLING BACK THE YEARS

Last Saturday in the park there was a challenge match arranged to mark Cian Murtagh’s 40^th birthday.  Featuring more county medals than you would find in Terry Coyle Park on any weekend, some of the past greats of the club took to the field once more.

On a glorious Saturday afternoon, no expense was spared in bringing back such past greats as Joe Dillon, Barry McArdle, Joe McCarthy and Kevin Martin (sponsored by Regaine) to name but a few.  Needing someone to control them all, ex-manager Robbie O’Connell refereed the match.
