November 8, 2018

On the field….

On Saturday evening last the senior team recorded a 3 point win over Ardagh in Round 4 of the All County League Division 1 at Fr McGee Park. We trailed by one point at half time but raised it a gear in the second half to finish the game 0-11 to 0-8. Declan Farrell did not feature in the game as the still recovers from a hamstring injury. Hopefully he can make a speedy recovery and be fit for the championship first round .

Team:
G Tonra, Podge Murtagh, N Farrell, O McGivney, G Murtagh, D C Reilly, F Kavanagh, N Brady, E Farrell, JP Reilly, T Doyle, A Gormley (0-2), B McCabe , D Murtagh, D McKeon

Subs: P McKeon, Paul Murtagh, P Brady (0-1) for D Murtagh

On Monday, the Division 3B team beat Dromard in the curtain raiser to Longford V Cavan in the Stevie Reilly Tournament in Paric na nGael.

Our u-14’s qualified for the final of the Division 2 leagues with a fine win over St Vincent’s in Monday last and will now play St James on June 14th. All are encouraged to get out and support the boys.

There is little action this weekend on the field of play and the seniors prepare to play our neighbours St Columbas in the Senior championship on Saturday week. This will be very tight contest and the club is under no illusion that it will be an easy game and expect a very tough battle. Preperations are going well even if there are a few small injuries being attended to at present.
