Galway Corinthians Youth Academy Report 24/10/2010

November 7, 2018

Three wins out three this weekend for Corinthians Youth teams.

The U14’ s kicked off the weekend with an excellent display of rugby v Loughrea
winning 87-7, scorers: Joe Campbell 2 tries, Aran Murray 2 tries, Colm Kilduff 2
tries, Padraic McCormack 3 tries, Colm de Buitlear 1 try 8 cons, Geroid O Cualain 2
tries, Gary Heffernan 1 con Cian Gargan 2 cons.

Followed by the U16’ s winning 29-12 at Monivea, Cathal Evans scored 2 excellent
tries, other scorers; Jonathon Folan finished off the best try of the game after
several phases, Darragh Glynn 1 try, Aaron Broderick 1 try, also contributed, Conor
O’ Sullivan 1 conversion, Darren Hennessy 1 conversion completed the scoring,
also Mark Marlborough at scrum-half controlled the tempo of the game with good
decision making and excellent passing, Colin Joyce led the forwards from the front.

On Sunday the U19’ s had home advantage v Ballina, winning with an excellent
performance strongly led with a top performance by scrum-half Craig Joyce behind
a forward back that dominated possession, the midfield of combination of Cian
Hynes & Bryan Dixon (Dixie) always got Corinthians over the gain line. Dixie scored
4 tries, Cian Hynes 2 tries, John O’ Dwyer 1 try, Shane Ryan 1 try, Craig Joyce 1
try. Finally I can say with all honesty I saw one of the best place kicking displays
I have seen from a Youth player in a long time from Daithi Joyce who kicked all 9
conversion and the 1 penalty, many from the touch line.
