Galway Footballers book a place in FBD League Final

At Pairc Mhaigh Cuilinn, Galway continued their winning run in the FBD League with an easy win over GMIT, and will now meet Roscommon in the final next Sunday. Galway lead at the break by seven points 0-8 to 0-1 with scores from Michael Martin 0-3, Shane Walsh 0-2 and one each from Keith Kelly, Oisin O’Brien and Cathal Sweeney while Alan Meeneghan replied for the students in added time.

Paul Whelehan increased the lead with the opening score of the second half while sub Johnny Heaney adding another point after only three minutes, the game was over as a contest after twelve minutes when Patrick Sweeney scored the only goal of the game to put Galway into a 1-10 to 0-2 lead.
