Girls Under 11

The U11s played St. Annes at home on Saturday @ 5.15pm, it looked at one stage like the match wasn’t going to happen, will calls coming in to to see if match was going to be cancelled, but luck was with us and the weather cleared and the hail and rain stopped long enought to get the match under way.

It was a great match against St. Annes a great side to play. We had a great defence with Jemma McNulty in Goals, Teresa Lee, Grace Kelly, Oonagah Fitzgerald, Mary Anne Redmond and Aoife O’Rouke stopping a much higher score line. Some great mid and forward playing from Roisin McLoughlin, Niamh Lakes, Sadhbh Maher, Rebbeca Mulville, Lilly Culhane, Ciara O’Shea all helping to set up the scoring which come from Eilish Murphy (2,0) and Kate Murray(2,1). There was only one point in the match a couple of minutes from the final whistle, but a late goal from Olafs sealed the win. Someone had to win and it was to be Olafs (4,1) St. Annes (2,1) There was a good support from the sidelines for the team from parents, a very vocal bunch.
