Under 10/12 Parish League.

On Sunday 5th October our under 10 and 12 girls joined together to form 4 teams who were known as Armagh, Cork, Dublin and Galway for this yearly parish league. Referee for the day was our own Philly Keane. Thank you Philly.

First match was between Armagh and Cork. Cork came out winners in this game and qualified for a place in the cup final. Second match was between Dublin and Galway. Galway won this game and were the second qualifiers for the cup final. Two exciting matches played and the pressure was now building between both players and coaches.

With two finals to be played and weather holding off nicely the plate final between Armagh and Dublin got under way. After a very close encounter Dublin pulled through to win this by a single point. The final match of the day was the cup final between Cork and Galway. On the day clever tactics for a very proud coach seemed to help a good bunch of girls to bring home the cup.

After a good days football and team spirit with all the girls there was a presentation of medals, cup and plate to a bunch of girls that St . Patrick's are very proud of.

Thanks to the following:

Parents for continuing to bring the girls to training throughout the year,

Parents who supplied many refreshments in the clubhouse after the matches,

Parents who helped out in many other ways on the day.

A special thanks must go to the commitment of the coaches for coaching and guiding the girls to play the best football.

The coaches on the day were Annmarie Ryan, Tracey Carroll, Catriona Boland, Louise Gleeson, Una O'Brien, Trish Strappe, Margaret Hogan and the reigning champion who has made it three in a row - Helen Hogan. Well done Helen.

A very special well done to all the under 10/12 girls who played today and gave all their parents a good day out. We will look forward to working with you all again next year.

Thank you

Mairead Foley
