On Monday night last, captain of Greenfields Firsts, Neasa McGettigan, proudly accepted the Kennedy Cup, as the team were declared winners of the ’08/ ’09 Connacht Senior League. Although they lost their final fixture on Monday, against Galway 1sts, they still came out top of the league table.
After a gap of 15 years, it was a proud moment for Coach Bryan Madden, new to the helm this season. Along with Manager, Imelda Brennan, they steered the team to victory after many hours of training & matches.
Congratulations to all involved, & good luck in the Connacht Senior Cup Competition.
The next Cup fixture is on in Dangan Sunday April 5th @ 2.30pm, where Greenfields 1sts meet Galway 2nds.
